Smoke & Felt Partners with CUPE Local 905 for New Bargaining Campaign

(NEWMARKET, ONTARIO) – Smoke & Felt is proud to announce it will be partnering with CUPE Local 905 this winter to support its Members ahead of its upcoming bargaining process. S&F will be collaborating with CUPE Local 905 to build a set of new digital tools for both its Members as well as the general public to learn about the bargaining process, get involved, and engage with new petitions and other media.

“I’m extremely excited to have Smoke & Felt strike this partnership with CUPE Local 905,” said Matt Dusenbury, Founder of S&F. “The next few months are set to be crucial, and S&F is ready to give the union the tools it needs for its Members.”

A local of Canada’s largest union, CUPE Local 905 consists of almost 6000 Members working in the Municipal, Library, Social Service, Paramedic, and Long-Term Care sectors. The union’s commitment extends to protecting the rights of its Members in the workplace and bargaining equitable collective agreements inclusive of good wages, benefits, and general working conditions.

“This is such a crucial project for us this year in showcasing our members,” Pascale Diverlus, Communications Officer for CUPE Local 905. “We’re confident this website by Smoke & Felt will be a great addition to the campaign.

As part of the project, Smoke & Felt will develop a new website dedicated to CUPE Local 905’s bargaining efforts. The site will be a complete destination for Members to receive up-to-the-minute news on the bargaining process, list ways to get involved, and host interactive media and petitions to show support.

“Supporting workers and their institutions like CUPE 905 is precisely why Smoke & Felt was founded,” said Dusenbury. “I’m thrilled we are able to partner with the union to support its Members in the time ahead.”

The new project is slated to launch in early 2021.
