See Spring Mental Wellness Coalition Taps Smoke & Felt to Drive New City Partnership

(VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA) Smoke & Felt is excited to announce it is working with See Spring Mental Wellness Coalition in its drive to partner with the City of Victoria. S&F will work with See Spring to develop the organization’s partnership proposal and messaging as it seeks to become the first point of contact for bylaw support with identified project clients.

“See Spring does vital work assisting those in need,” said Matt Dusenbury, founder of Smoke & Felt. “With mental health, substance use health, and housing supports, I’m glad that S&F is working with See Spring to help expand its service delivery to those in the community.”

See Spring Mental Wellness Coalition was started by a group of Victoria area residents who saw a need for new mental health supports. As the not-for-profit learns more about the needs of the community, it strives to create healthy and supportive spaces for all. By offering programs and peer support informed by living experience, See Spring hopes to advocate for communities today and for future generations.

“Our community is struggling with challenges successfully moving unhoused people from sheltering in parks into shelters and housing,” said Amy Allard, Chair of the Board of Directors. “Our Pilot Project communicates to the City how our clients need an opportunity to be dry, clean, rested and have somewhere to leave their items in a secure fashion to attend to important appointments with us during the week.”

“This Pilot Project needed to be professionally drawn up on a very short timeline and by a company that already had a deep understanding of how it should be presented to City officials,” she continued. “S&F’s help with writing the formal proposal and media messaging means the overall delivery and rollout is clear and demonstrates why the project will benefit both unsheltered residents and their housed neighbors.”

Smoke & Felt is working closely with See Spring to guide the RFP process and develop a variety of messaging materials for the organization.

“These are issues that are deeply effecting people in our communities every day,” said Dusenbury. “I’m glad that S&F is working with See Spring to help the organization expand its mission and bring comfort and relief to those who need it.”
